Special Quiz
The methodology of each teacher is to admire and respect. This methodology does not intend to change their way of teaching, it only wants to help improve teaching methodologies.
Special quiz has these steps:
1. Knowing the students.
2. Making groups.
3. Explanation of the topic.
4. Class work in groups.
5. Special quiz.
Step 1. Knowing the students:
It is important to emphasize that the teacher must know his students, who have good skills, who have learning problems, who are lazy, who talk a lot, who are obsessed with their mobile phones. For what? to be able to assemble groups of students strategically. Special quiz has as a strategy to assemble groups of students with excellent grades with students of regular or low grades.
Step 2. Making groups:
Making groups of students is very subjective, for that the teacher must be fair, but he must also be strict at the same time of making the groups. Students normally study with their trusted friends, usually students of the same academic abilities. Making groups break those friendships can generate controversy between them. At first, it may be a bit complicated, but over time the results will make them understand that their future they will not decide with whom they will work in the companies, they should only achieve their goals working in a group. From my point of view, all my students are of excellent quality, only they have not had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills for many reasons, and working in a group can help "not have a few students with excellent grades, I want all my students with excellent grades".
Step 3. Explanation of the topic: It is important to understand that humans always start with the simplest, to improve or complicate their exercises. For example, your goal is to run, but first, you learn to crawl, walk, jog, and finally run. Then the explanations of each class should start from the simplest, although you think the students know it, it is better to start from the basics, and then add more concepts and achieve the final goal.
Step 4. Class work in groups: Students work in group exercises or questions on the topic of the class explained. At the end of this class work, it must be corrected and one of them will be selected to do the special quiz. Therefore it should be emphasized that the two students must have clear concepts because the result of the special quiz is the reflection of group work.
Step 5. Special quiz: The selected student will answer a few questions, in a time of 10 to 15 minutes. It's important to be fair, so the next special quiz will be done by his/her co-worker. The results are excellent, I hope that you as teachers can improve this methodology and thus innovate the special quiz.
