How to create teaching methodologies?
Maybe it's the most complex part of being a teacher, creating a methodology, just one! For a group of students it is a mistake that many teachers make. Why? I have read many methodologies by very good teachers from several countries and the conclusion is each student needs a methodology. Maybe it's a very difficult for teachers because it would spend a lot of time and time is worth money, but innovation together with technology has led me to create a process that can perhaps help you create teaching methodologies:
Step 1: Try to know the abilities, skills, or deficiencies of each student, and keep track of this information.
Step 2: Create a methodology or way of transmitting knowledge in a general way, at least the students have an idea of the topic being explained.
For this you can create videos, presentations in any software, the important thing is to try to reach the student using the channels that they use most to obtain information, one of them, their mobile phones.
Step 3: This third step is the union of the first step and the second step, but you will innovate your second step (general methodology) according to the first step (skills or deficiencies of the student).
How do you do it?
Imagine that your student's brain is an ¨obsolete toy¨, which is defective. You must repair it (review basic concepts) so that you can have a new toy (transmit new knowledge), if you do not repair it, it is impossible for you to operate your toy optimally or functionally.
Use their skills or the things your student likes best to create scenarios or examples, easy for the student to understand.
For example: You want to explain the subtraction operation. And you say, "He wants to eat an apple and you have two apples in your hand, how many apples do you have left?
You can say the same but changing the order or other words. For example, your girlfriend loves you, and gives you two apples, and you eat one apple to show your girlfriend that you like her apples, how many apples do you have left?
I hope that my experience and knowledge in education will help you create better methodologies than this, innovation and creation should be part of education.
